Description They glided and whirled on the sleek and springy floor. They jumped with ecstatic joy to the music of not one, but two of the best bands in the land as they strived for musical supremacy. Over 15 million enthusiasts danced at the "track." And over 250 bands during Savoy's 32-year lifetime added to the ever-changing musical trends: Dixieland, jazz, blues, swing, boogie-woogie, waltz, and countless peabody and rhumbas. 651, in the Savoy tradition, recreates the Battle of the Bands with:
The Savoy Reunion Band: Doc Cheatham, Larry Lucie, Eddie Barefield, E.V. Perry and others under the direction of legendary bandleaders -- Erskine Hawkins, Al Cobbs, and Panama Francis.
