Description Arts & Justice encourages participants to develop their artistic, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills through the visual and theater arts. This after-school program focuses on issues related to the theme of justice that affect the lives and communities of high school students. In addition to participating in workshops, students will attend live performances and visit art galleries. Participants have a choice of two tracks taught by master instructors:
Theater: Students will learn the fundamentals of playwriting and theater-making focusing on examining personal choices in relation to issues of law and justice.
Visual Arts: Students will be instructed in the fine arts and create artworks for public exhibition as a positive, community-centered outlet for expression.
Students will participate in an informal culminating event at the end of the program.
