Description As part of the citywide Festival of Dance 68-69 BAM presented Merce Cunningham’s second major New York season. Featuring three distinct programs, one of the highlights was the New York premiere of “Canfield,” a dance made in memoriam to eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla, with music by Pauline Oliveros. This is the first BAM appearance of the Cunningham company with noted lighting designer Richard Nelson, who worked with the company from 1968 through 1973.
