Description A dynamic study in group movement, Water Stains on the Wall is a masterful mixture of dance idioms, employing techniques from tai chi, ballet, Martha Graham, and Merce Cunningham. Taking its inspiration from Chinese calligraphy from the Tang Dynasty, the dancers come and go in slow processions along a sloped stage, as if performing the movement of brush strokes, with the remarkable ease and constraint for which Cloud Gate is known.
