Description An artist with the soul of an anarchist, Jasperse boldly draws from a broad spectrum of influences. Cerebral, but also intensely kinetic, Jasperse's dances always move, sometimes wildly. CALIFORNIA is no exception. Accompanied by an original live score by composer Jonathan Bepler, five dancers, Jasperse among them, continously shift our focus and derail the expected within a space shaped by a massive, pliable sculpture. An abstract and, at times, spiritual reflection on a state that fails to conform to our projected fantasies, CALIFORNIA asks, "What should we do when things haven't worked out as we had hoped?"
