Description School Tour. 9th -12th grade. Youthful love, illusion, and comedy combine to create a mesmerizing performance of one of Shakespeare's best-loved plays by actors from London's Royal National Theatre. The presentation includes a workshop that uses exercises focusing on language, character, theme, narrative, and staging aimed at building an inspiring relationship between the acting company and your student audience. Includes preparation workshop.

In conjunction with In-School Arts Residency with a BAM Teaching Artist. March - May 2001. 8 forty-five minute workshops. Shakespeare Teaches Students is a companion in-school program to Shakespeare Teaches Teachers. In this eight-week residency with the BAM Teaching Artists who participate in Shakespeare Teaches Teachers, students will learn about Shakespeare's work by performing it. BAM Teaching Artists are accomplished actors and directors with years of experience in performing Shakespeare's work. They will work with you and your students to bring Shakespeare's language to life in the classroom through an exploration of historical context, character, and action. At the conclusion of the residency, all participants attend a Shakeaspeare performance by the Royal National Theatre Education Deparatment. Maximum 30 per class.
