Description BAM closes the festival and kisses the 20th century good-bye with Party at the End of Time: 1999 Live, a hip-hop celebration of the epoch-defining album 1999 by The Artist Formerly Known As Prince.
This one-night-only event features a house band from heaven: Grammy-winning, ex-Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid and Philadelphia's Billboard-busting, legendary hip-hop sophisticates The Roots ("no DJ, no turntables, no samples - all the way live from area code 215!"). Joining this once-in-a-lifetime jam party are platinum-sellers PM Dawn ("Set Adrift in Memory Bliss"), retro-soul star vocalist and former Brand New Heavies frontwoman N'Dea Davenport, and a slew of surprise guest rappers and singers. The album will be performed in its original sequence, including the apocalyptic crunch of the title tune and the sexy grooves of "Little Red Corvette" and "Delirious." An end-of-the-century send-off that could only happen in Brooklyn. Rest up!
