Description A visual tone poem, Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance is a 1982 film directed by Godfrey Reggio. The montage of street scenes and naturescapes is presented—sans dialogue or vocal narration—to a pulsating score by Philip Glass. On January 16, 1999, BAM screened Koyaanisqatsi with live musical accompaniment by Philip Glass and the Philip Glass Ensemble.
