Description The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh begins in a forest and ends in paradise. Along the way, the heroine Fevroniya discovers love and endures insult, heartbreak, and the vicissitudes of war. The Kirov productdion of Rimsky-Korsakov's long-lost masterpiece -- a centerpiece of the Kirov renaissance that is a marvel of the contemporary opera world -- unfolds with the majesty of ritual and the splendor of an icon. The gleaming Galina Gorchakova heads a cast of hundreds, including the full Kirov Orchestra and Chorus, all led by the company's charismatic artistic director and conductor, Valery Gergiev. Performed in Russian with English surtitles.
