Description Dancing into the Future is an after-school program dedicated to teaching young dance enthusiasts about the art of choreography. Students participating in the program were chosen from a record number of applicants based on their willingness to take on new challenges and their genuine love of dance. Teaching artist Jenny Rocha taught various movement techniques and guided students through a choreographic process to create a full-length original work. Students were encouraged to incorporate elements learned from master classes with guest artists Baba Chuck Davis, Bobbi Smith of Batsheva Dance Company, Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie (breakdance), Quenia Ribeiro (samba), and Byron Cox (house), and live performances of Mark Morris Dance Group, Batsheva Dance Company, and DanceBrazil. Tonight, the students of Dancing into the Future share their choreographic pathways: where they have been as dancers, who they have become, and where they  hope their paths will lead them.
