Description This music-theater performance art piece tells the life story of the Mexican surrealist painter Frida Kahlo, whose stature as an artist has soared in recent years. The extravagant life story of Kahlo and husband Diego Rivera is told as a colorful pageant in which actors, masked and unmasked, work with puppets ranging from 7 inches to 7 feet tall. Rodriguez's score uses narrative ballads to move the story along.
