Rachel Kushner is author of The Flamethrowers, a finalist for the 2013 National Book Award and selected as one of The New York Times' top five novels of 2013. Her debut novel, Telex from Cuba, was a finalist for the 2008 National Book Award, making her the only writer ever nominated for both a first and second novel. Her fiction and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s, The New York Times, and The Paris Review, among other publications. She is the recipient of a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship.

Raise a glass and share a meal with some of today’s most renowned authors in this unique series of literary evenings at BAMcafé. Each event begins with a buffet dinner, including wine and dessert, accompanied by live music. Following dinner, the evening’s featured author reads from his or her work and discusses the creative process. Guests are encouraged to ask questions and have their book signed at the conclusion of the evening.
