Description This year BAM is partnering with the Folger Shakespeare Library for this intensive series of workshops on how to approach Shakespeare's work in the classroom (grades 8-12). Based on teaching strategies developed at BAM and at the Folger's Teaching Shakespeare Instittues, participants examine Shakespeare's works through textual analysis and practical performance-based activities. Each participant receives a Shakespeare Set Free toolkit containing DVDs, books, and a wealth of curriculum materials that can be used with any play.
Michael LoMonico (senior consultant on National Education at the Folger, author of The Shakespeare Book of Lists and Shakespeare 101, and a former high school teacher) leads this course along with BAM teaching artists and guest workshop leaders.
