Description Grades 6-12. Njinga, a majestic and strong 17th century African woman, ruled as the "King" of Ndongo (now Angola) and kept Portuguese slave traders at bay for 40 years. This new music theater piece mixes contemporary and traditional song, dance and music to connect her life with that of a modern-day African American woman.
Every ticket includes a pre-performance school visit by one of the artists, a teacher's workshop at BAM with full curriculum materials and a post-performance discusion.
