Rebirth Brass Band, New Orleans' youngest and hottest street band, has one foot firmly rooted in tradition while the other is steppin' to its own tune. The Wild Magnolias, the biggest and most popular of the Mardi Gras Indian bands, will lead the party with their mix of Indian, brass band, and rhythm and blues music traditions known as "Mardi Gras rhumba." April 30th performance taped for broadcast on National Public Radio's "New Sounds Live," hosted by WNYC's John Schaefer.
