Description Dancing into the Future is a pilot program developed this past year by BAM Department of Education and Humanities and Long Island University Brooklyn Campus M.F.A. in New Media Art & Performance. Its purpose, embedded in its title, is to teach young dancers the art of choreography. The students were carefully considered and selected for their level of maturity, self-motivation, and genuine love for dance. They come to us from Benjamin Banneker Academy, Brooklyn High School of Music and Theater, Christ the King Reg. High School, Clara Barton High School, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, Science Skills Center High School, Susan S. McKinney School of the Arts, and Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation. The teaching artists are established professionals and graduate students from Long Island University Brooklyn Campus M.F.A. in New Media Art & Performance program.
