Description Colson Whitehead is the author of the novels John Henry Days, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize; The Intuitionist, a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Prize; Apex Hides the Hurt; the bestseller Sag Harbor, a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award; and most recently, the post-apocalyptic zombie novel Zone One. He is also the author of the essay collection The Colossus of New York. Whitehead’s reviews, essays, and fiction have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Harper’s, and Granta. He is the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship and a Whiting Award. He lives in Brooklyn.
