Tom Caravaglia



BAM Affiliation New York Artist, Tom Caravaglia (April 19, 1928 - July 10, 2014) is probably best known for his performance photography. During the 1980s he functioned as the house photographer at BAM. The majority of his work at BAM was documenting of iconic dance performances, including Trisha Brown, DanceAfrica, Twyla Tharp and countless others. Tom Caravaglia was also experimental in his approach, often incorporating multiple exposures and time-lapse photography. Studio portraits were another specialty, along with creating a staggering quantity of head-shots for artists of all types.
