BAM Affiliation Since her early successes, while still in her 20s, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's choreography has always held a close relationship to music. BAM first presented her work in the 1986 Next Wave Festival, with Rosas danst Rosas (the first piece she created for her long-running ensemble, Rosas). The next year's Next Wave Festival included her breakthrough piece, Elena's Aria. Since then, BAM has presented her work over 10 times, including Woud in 1997 (three movements set to the music of Schönberg, Berg, and Wagner), and the 2001 revival of Drumming, set to Steve Reich's early minimalist epic of the same name, which was performed live alongside De Keersmaeker's dance. Most recently, Keersmaeker and Rosas returned to BAM with Vortex Temporum, an evening-length work featuring contemporary music ensemble Ictus.
