The BAM Hamm Archives contains the collections listed below. Most of the collections are digitized, and can be searched online. Some, for instance the BAM Board Files and Harvey Lichtenstein President’s Records, can be searched only physically, on site.

This collection of programs, dating from 1857, documents BAM’s more than 150-year history of performance. Individual programs provide detailed information about casts, companies, directors, designers, and other production notes.
BAM Building Photographs
The photos in this collection document the history of the three buildings that currently comprise BAM’s campus. There are also photos of the Academy’s original Montague Street building in Brooklyn Heights, which burned to the ground in 1903.
Harvey Lichtenstein President's Records
These files contain internal records from the office of BAM’s iconic president and executive producer, Harvey Lichtenstein.
BAM Board Files
These files document the activities of BAM’s Board, and include memorandums, correspondence, minutes from meetings, and financial records.

Chelsea Theater Center
This collection contains photographs, programs, and other materials documenting the residency of the Chelsea Theater Center at BAM from 1968 through 1978.
DanceMotion USA℠
DanceMotion USA℠ is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State, produced by BAM to facilitate cultural exchange while showcasing the best in contemporary American dance abroad.

The BAM Press Releases Collection reflects communications to the public about the programming, the institution and noteworthy events at BAM.

The brochures in this collection document the programming and history of BAM as well as related organizations that present at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

This collection of promotional publications focuses on performers, performances and other subjects relating to the BAM Next Wave Festival from 1983 -1989.
