Description Sandra Cisneros lives and writes in San Antonio, Texas. Her work includes a collection of poetry; a collection of short stories, Woman Hollering Creek; a children's book; and two novels, The House on Mango Street and Caramelo. She has worked as a teacher to high school dropouts, a poet-in-the-schools, and a visiting writer at a number of universities. Cisneros was awarded the MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 1995.
