Description This is the first Merce Cunningham BAM program with Jasper Johns acting as artistic director. It consisted of three then-new pieces in the Cunningham repertory: “Scramble” (with music by Toshi Ichitanagi, and décor and costumes by Frank Stella), “Place” (music by Gordon Mumma, and décor and costumes by company lighting designer Beverly Emmons), and “How to Pass, Kick, Fall and Run,” with music by John Cage.
