October 7 – 12, 1997

Alternate Title Elsinore (based on Hamlet by William Shakespeare)
Production Language English
Country of Origin Canada
Description Described by a critic at the New York Observer as “a brain scan of Hamlet performed by one actor,” Robert Lepage’s Elsinore is a sort of sequel to his previous one-man show, Needles and Opium (1992 NWF). With all the roles of Hamlet, including Ophelia, played by British actor and choreographer Peter Darling, Elsinore is a hi-tech deconstruction of Shakespeare’s ruminations on the ultimate uncertainty of knowledge, belief, and desire.
