Description While working on Come home Charlie Patton (2007 NWF) Ralph Lemon met the oldest man in Yazoo, Mississippi, Walter Carter, who (as Lemon put it) became his “teacher and playmate.” Shortly after the premiere of Come home Charlie Patton, Lemon’s longtime partner, Asako Takami, died. How Can You Stay in the House All Day and Not Go Anywhere? is a sort of fabulist record of these two significant relationships, told in film, lecture, dance, and through a companion installation piece exhibited at the Kitchen.
