Description This 25th anniversary celebration program included some of Mark Morris’ classics, as well as more recently choreographed canonical pieces like Dido and Aeneas and Four Saints in Three Acts. Also danced was his classic “Gloria,” which Morris presented to great acclaim to BAM audiences in 1984. This time around, instead of dancing Morris made his debut as a conductor, leading the MMDG Music Ensemble through Vivaldi’s score. "I know this piece very well and love it, so why not conduct it?" said Morris in a press release. "It will be an exciting and slightly daunting challenge." He has since gone on to conduct performances by the Seattle Symphony, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, among others.
