Description International artists invite us on an expansive tour of contemporary music. The Brooklyn Youth Chorus, under the direction of founder Dianne Berkun Menaker, showcases their inspiring, ambitious repertoire with premieres and commissions from Nathalie Joachim, Tania Leon, Paola Prestini, Olga Bell, and Gity Razaz. International artist Leila Adu—with roots in New Zealand, Britain, and Ghana—is a dynamic force in the space where electropop, avant-classical, and singer-songwriter meet. Composer and performer Soo Yeon Lyuh brings traditional Korean music into the 21st century and beyond with her mastery of the haegum, the Korean two-stringed spike fiddle. And Brooklyn-based electronic band Balún, originally from Puerto Rico, mix hypnotic tropical tunes and dembow beats with glitches and dreampop to create their own “dreambow” style.
