Description Building on the success of Don Byron's Jazz and Cartoons for Kids, kaBAM presents Vernon Reid's Bring Your Beats. Best known for his work with the rock band Living Colour, Mr. Reid has collaborated with a range of artists including Carlos Santana, Don Byron, and the Rolling Stones. This new program for kids traces the history of music and technology, exploring the links between art and electronics. Backed by an international group of musicians, Vernon Reid will teach students about sampling, scratching, and other contemporary forms, tracing them back to their roots in jazz and blues. Workshops will be offered to prepare classes through the Bring Your Beats program.
