Description Rika was sent to Never Records BAM by a BAM staffer who was dining in a restaurant in the West Village and heard Rika singing while bussing a table. Rika performed an original song called Silver Nails that was co-written by T. Klinkhamer and accompanied by guitarist Jesse Barnes. I adored Rika’s style, a white lace dress evocative of the legendary Stevie Nicks, a black beard, and dark blue eyeshadow. When a session is as effortless as Rika’s, I can put myself inside the music and get lost in the lyrics and melodies. We recorded a second track called Fairy that is just as good as Silver Nails.We chose Silver Nails as the track for the record and the video recording because of a great panning shot from high heels to beard.
