Description DanceAfrica’s “Sweet 16” took place over the course of two weekends, featuring master classes, the ever-popular bazaar, and performances from many of the festival’s favorites, such as the Charles Moore Dance Theater, Malaki Ma Congo, Sabar Ak Ru Afriq, and more. The opening day celebration featured a libation ceremony honoring Pearl Primus, Babatunde Olatunji, and Chief Bey—three artists whose contribution to African American dance is unsurpassable.
