After-School Program: Shakespeare Teaches Students

January – May, 2016

Production Language English
Country of Origin United States
Description Students are introduced to the Bard’s work in this dynamic ensemble-building program. Through the embodied study of Shakespeare’s work—theater exercises, scene work, and character exploration—led by BAM’s experienced teaching artists, participants derive meaning and relate it to their own lives. The workshops conclude with a peer-to-peer presentation at BAM. (Students also have the opportunity to share their work in school, at the discretion of school administration and the teaching artist.) Specific dates of the classes are determined between teaching artist and classroom teacher.
