Since 1861 BAM has served as a forum for public discourse, featuring influential thinkers, writers, activists, and luminaries. In this exhibition organized by the BAM Hamm Archives, we showcase many of their names, including the words of Frederick Douglass, Victoria Woodhull, Helen Keller, Angela Davis, and Gloria Steinem.
This exhibition, curated by the BAM Hamm Archives and BAM Humanities, is part of
Speaking Truth to Power, a multidisciplinary series of performances, conversations, film screenings, and exhibits presented in conjunction with the Next Wave Festival.
