Description A celebration of new and emerging African American and Latina choreographers, this full-evening program presents an inspired vision of contemporary womanhood drawn from both cultural heritage and personal experience.
In a unique collaboration of musicians, dancers, and martial artists, the world-renowned guitar duo Casselberry-DuPree will showcase their Home Girls..Goin' Home Ensemble in Homage to Our Ancient Ones, a dance-theater work in memory of our ancestors.
With additional works by Chirstina Jones (formerly of Urban Bush Women), Janine Williams, Marlies Yearby, Marcea Daiter, and Marcela Ortiz Broughton, Women Dancermakers VI pays tribute to women everywhere with a vibrant collage of dance theater, music, and performance art.
