Description Grades 2-9. Judo and Karate. Emphasizes Judo and Karate as a competitive sports and disciplined training. WIth two of his star students (and several young volunteers from the audience) Thomas Purdy, youngest third degree Black Belt (Karate) in the U.S., and Judo Instructor for the United Nations Guards, fills 60 minutes with an introductory course that has moments of high-pitched excitement such as the usual breaking of heavy wood, and the demonstration of bamboo staff, nanuckas, and sais as used by the early Japanese monks for self defense.
