Description ABOUT The Little Theatre of the Deaf:
The Little Theatre of the Deaf (LTD) is our Family/Children’s Theatre wing of the National Theatre of the Deaf.  The same actors perform both National Theatre of the Deaf and Little Theatre of the Deaf productions.  For over four decades, LTD has performed for children and adults in theaters and schools throughout the world.

You SEE and HEAR every word!  The show is performed simultaneously in American Sign Language and the Spoken Word through our ensemble performances.  The LTD performs original works, classic stories, fables and poems, sculpting words and meanings in the air through the artistry of Sign Language and seamlessly blends them with the Spoken Word.

Created in 1968, the Little Theatre of the Deaf was formed a full year after the inaugural year of the National Theatre of the Deaf.  Our National Theatre of the Deaf programming was so popular we were frequently asked to perform additional pieces for families and children.  Our LTD has surpassed our expectations.  We perform everywhere across the country for audiences of all ages.  We perform for everybody.

The Little Theatre of the Deaf is a living, breathing lesson in teamwork, tolerance and self reliance.  Children of all ages (and the kid in us all) enjoy the many levels of the performance.  Providing solid entertainment, each performance carries the benefits of awareness of a different culture, a different language, diversity, theatre arts, and important role modeling for children of all abilities.  Each age can appreciate LTD’s message of hope, inspiration, and the importance of each individual.
