School-Time Performance: Silence, Please!

March 11 – 14, 1980

Production Language English
Country of Origin United States
Description Grades K-6. The silent movie era has enriched our lives more than we usually realize. As in any field, there was one person who stood out from the rest, for innovation, proficiency, magnetism. Charlie Chaplin is unquestionably that person. In an affectionate tribute to this master clown, Archaesus will present the flavor of his work in a vaudeville-like show. The show will include many of his antics and there will be appearances by Mack Swain, the Keystone Cops, and many of the trademarks of Chaplin. Music, mime, and gymnastics and the familiar stylistic elements of an Archaesus show will be evident throughout.
