School-Time Performance: Patience

March 27 – 30, 1979

Production Language English
Country of Origin United States
Description Grades 3-9. Beautiful and bouncy melodies, sparkling dances, and some of W.S. Gilbert's funniest topsy-turvy characters all form one of the wittiest and most enjooyable operettas ever produced by Gilbert & Sullivan -- Patience, or Bunthorne's Bride. The Manhattan Savoyards, acclaimed throughout the country for eight years as the outstanding comic opera company in the United States, highlight this production with dazzling costumes and scenery, and some of the greatest comedy to be found in the Savoy operettas, as soldiers fall  hopelessly in love with maidens, who are themselves followers of rival poets. It is specially prepared for BAM's young audience.
