Description Grades 1-6. Come to Carnival and celebrate Black History Month! Dance to the African rhythms brought to Brazil from the Congo and Angola. Roots of Brazil emphasizes the culture of the black Angolan slaves who were first brought to Brazil in the seventeenth century. The show highlights the sacred rhythms, songs, and dances of Candomble, the African religion of Brazil; Capoeira, a swift and graceful martial arts dance; and the easygoing Samba de Roda.
