Description Grades 9-12. Arts & Justice is designed to help students develop their artistic, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills through the visual and performing arts, focusing on issues related to the theme of justice that affect their lives and communities. Participants have a choice of two tracks taught by master instructors:
Theater: Students will learn the fundamentals of playwriting and theater-making focusing on examining personal choices in relation to issues of law and justice.
Visual Arts: Students will be instructed in the fine arts and create artworks for public exhibition as a positive, community-centered outlet for expression.
In addition to participating in workshops, students will attend live performances and visit art galleries. Students in both tracks will participate in an informal culminating performance/exhibition on December 12.
