Professional Development for Teachers: Teaching Shakespeare

April 13, 2013

Production Language English
Country of Origin United States
Description In conjunction with its presentation of Julius Caesar at BAM, the Royal Shakespeare Company offers this workshop that explores various approaches to teaching Shakespeare, inspired by the RSC’s rehearsal room practice. The day will focus on practical strategies that enable students to see a play from different characters’ viewpoints, and exercises to develop students’ appreciation of the images, rhythms, and sounds of Shakespeare’s language. These methods ensure more detailed, specific student writing and stronger personal responses. All activities are transferable to other kinds of literature.
