Description Addressing Bullying in Schools through Theater Arts
As the issue of bullying in and out of school becomes a nationwide concern, and the Dignity for All Act goes into effect in New York State, BAM Education is offering a unique theater-based workshop to provide educators with creative solutions and proven techniques to heighten student awareness of the effects of bullying on their peers and community. Led by highly experienced theater artists and educators, participating educators will learn effective role-playing exercises, theater games, and activities intended to foster empathy and encourage student self-expression.

Among the topics to be explored will be:
• Why is it important to stop bullying?
• What are the characteristics of children who bully?
• Cyber-Bullying
• How theater engenders empathy
