Description Grades 10-12. Developed for the young film enthusiast, this unique 10-session after-school program gives students the opportunity to watch thought-provoking films, hone their analytical skills, and engage in lively discussions with their peers. Guided by a master teacher, students will improve their writing skills as they compose and revise film reviews.
In addition to screenings and discussions, students will meet with professional writers and artists. Former guests in this program have included A.O. Scott of The New York Times, Alison Bailes of television's Reel Talk, Richard Brody of The New Yorker, and filmmmaker Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Raising Victor Vargas).
An anthology of student essays and reviews is published and distributed at the end of the course.
