Description Grades 10-12. This fall, BAM offers its popular after-school program, Young Critics, a nine-session program which brings together high school students who share a passion for writing and the arts. Guided by a master teacher, Young Critics participants meet at BAM to engage in lively workshops that focus on the relationship between the performing arts and criticism. Students will attend performances by some of the world's most accomplished artists at BAM.
In addition to attending performances and writing workshops, students meet with professional writers and artists. Former guests have included Ben Brantley of The New York Times, Jeremy McCarter of Newsweek, playwright Tony Kushner (Angels in America), and legendary stage actor Alvin Epstein (Endgame). An anothology of student reviews is published and distributed at the end of the course.
