Description Grades 3-6. This internationally known classical string quartet plays work outside of the traditional classical repertoire such as African Pop or Jimi Hendrix. Featured in the concert are several works including "Turtle People" by Brent Michael Davids, a Native American composer. The piece incorporates the Mohican creation story of how the water people crawled out of the oceans onto the back of a giant turtle to become the Mohicans. Students will participate in the performance by making and playing instrumetns with special guest artist Craig Woodson. Music and video cassettes included with study guide.
