Description It is the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers' maiden flight! Through narrative and movement, this lecture-performance explores the human desire to fly and the specific accomplishments of Orville and Wilbur Wright. Dances will demonstrate topics such as: ideas about flight, mythical attempts to fly, the Wright Brothers' process of invention, the physics and harmony of flight, and the final achievement of powered flight. Internationally acclaimed modern dance company DCDC has amassed the world's largest repertory of works by African-American choreographers. This program includes one master class workshop after the performance for a maximum of 30 students. The lecture-performance is for a minimun of 175 students per school.
