Description “What I’m proposing today is the dissolution of all national borders as the next fundamental condition of our continued social evolution as a species.” —Paul Abacus
Early Morning Opera’s ABACUS is a work that lands somewhere between theater, performance art, and hi-tech TED talk. Paul Abacus is a visionary, a lecturer, and a fictional character who may or may not be the alter ego of Lars Jan. Aided with slick, mega-church-style computer projections, Abacus boldly proposes a future without national borders as an alternative to our current geo-political reality. In an age when warfare resulting from racial and ethnic conflict seem to be happening with alarming frequency, Abacus’ proposition gains urgency and demands attention.
