BAM Affiliation Appearing at BAM on six separate engagements, LaRocque Bey Dance Company was founded by Harlem's Godfather of Dance: LaRocque Bey. During his illustrious career, LaRocque thrilled audiences around the world. He choreographed and performed with the legendary Josephine Baker, Eartha Kitt and Aretha Franklin. He studied with Katherine Dunham, Syvilla Fort, Pearl Primus and Percival Borde, and continued his research of Afrocentric dance and folklore with the Yoruba Temple of African Culture and the original Dance Company of Senegal.
