Black Histories, Black Presents, Black Futures

In this collection, we invite you to investigate a compendium of Black groundbreaking visionaries who have appeared at BAM throughout our history. The collection is inspired by the launch of Kimberly Drew and Jenna Wortham’s edited collection Black Futures, described as “an archive of collective memory” on the continuum of creative collections and projects centered on Black life and experience. Here, we build on the mission of the BAM Hamm Archives -- to support an ever expanding understanding of the past, present, and future -- and create a window into our multidisciplinary history of BAM’s expansive legacy of Black artists and thinkers.
