Description “Rhythmic Rites and Rituals: Connecting Cultural Borders,” the 26th annual DanceAfrica festival brought the return of the Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago, an early participant in the festival. Also featured was the Resurrection Dance Theatre of Haiti, as well as a full-fledged festival of Haiti-related films, screened in the BAM Rose Cinemas to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Haitian flag.  

DanceAfrica honored three icons:
